The Position-T
Provides a variety of clerical and fiscal record keeping duties necessary to prepare, maintain, review, adjust, and process financial and statistical records, reports, accounts and claims. Provides a high level of customer service. Handles multiple tasks and problems simultaneously.
Examples of Knowledge and Abilities-T
Essential Knowledge and Abilities • Know and apply general principles, procedures and practices of fiscal and statistical record keeping • Make arithmetic computations using addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, decimals, and fractions and post accurately and rapidly •Track and reconcile information between accounts and ledgers • Proofread details, detect, and correct errors • Know and apply modern office practices, procedures, equipment, technology, and basic computer operations and applications including word processing, databases, and spreadsheets • Read, write and speak Business English (grammar, punctuation, spelling, vocabulary) at a level necessary for satisfactory job performance • Apply standard letter/memo formats and methods of filing and cross-referencing: alphabetic, numeric, and chronological • Prioritize work to meet conflicting deadlines • Deal tactfully with people
Employment Qualifications-T
Minimum Qualifications Level I- One year of experience in keeping or reviewing financial or statistical records. Level II - Two years of experience in keeping or reviewing financial or statistical records. Note: Education may be substituted for experience. Qualifying education must be in an accounting curriculum from an accredited four-year or two-year college or an accredited correspondence or business school. A Bachelor's degree, an Associate in Arts degree, or an Accounting Certification that demonstrates the completion of all required accounting course work is equal to two years of experience. The accounting curriculum must include elementary and advanced accounting, cost accounting and accounting law. Completion of any two of the following courses from an accredited four-year or two-year college, or an accredited correspondence or business school may be substituted for one year of experience: elementary accounting, advanced accounting, cost accounting and accounting law. Proof of education must be submitted. Work completed as a volunteer or unpaid student intern will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Cooperative Testing Venture Examination Process 1. Complete a registration request form and mail to Cooperative Personnel Services (CPS), CTV Project, 241 Lathrop Way, Sacramento, CA 95815 or go on-line to www.cps.ca.gov, click test registration and click CTV registration on-line. 2. CPS will send you written notification of your scheduled test date. 3. After taking the test, Certificates of Completion are generated and mailed every Friday. 4. Attach a copy of your Certificate of Completion to the completed application. For more detailed information refer to the Candidate Registration Request form.
