Position Description:
This is a Full-Time Non-Civil Service position with Metro Action Commission with medical, dental, pension, and other insurance benefits.
Typical Duties:
- Responsible for planning and executing an individualized program for the students of Head Start/Early Head Start
- Supervise daily operation of assigned center with Early Childhood Center Manager
- Supervise total daily operation in the absence of the Early Childhood Center Manager
- Provide instructional leadership, training, and professional development to the Head Start/Early Head Start teaching staff
- Assist center teaching staff in planning and implementing daily program activities
- Organize program to meet individual needs of all children
- Help children to develop socially, intellectually, physically and emotionally
- Utilize child assessment and family outcomes data to plan individualized instructional programs for children and to support instructional decision making
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and/or Child Development or a related field from an accredited college or university. Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience in a preschool environment. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in preschool management. Valid TN Driver's License.
Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.
Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Previous work experience with young children
Teamwork experience
