Description
This position is .5 FTE (20 hours per week) with pro-rated benefits.

To perform a variety of clerical support functions in the Compensation, Employment and Benefits section of the Human Resources Department.Job Duties
1. Provides assistance to the general public in person or on the phone; explains services and provides basic information related to compensation, employment and benefits to employees and/or citizens and directs to appropriate staff person as needed; receives, opens and distributes mail; receives incoming calls and directs to appropriate staff.
2. Prepares job announcements for posting; reviews employment documents for accuracy; prepares and maintains employment files; reviews examinations and other related information for accuracy, verifies scores; enters applicant information into applicant tracking database; maintains employment folders, and properly closes out folders and files when complete.
3. Receives, reviews and processes various forms such as classification requests, payroll record changes, benefit enrollment/change forms; reviews forms for accuracy, completeness, and required signatures; prepares for filing , and distributes copies as necessary; maintains benefit forms and orders new forms and booklets and other supplies as needed; prepares new hire orientation packets.
4. Enters employee information into payroll system and employee database; retrieves information from computer; proofs and corrects work entered; processes all payroll record changes (PRC) and employee related paperwork.
5. Sets up and maintains files and recordkeeping systems.
6. Provides assistance during open enrollment such as arranging meeting locations, scheduling provider meetings; prepares open enrollment materials by sending to print shop and distributing copies to employees.
7. Maintains confidentiality of all personnel, payroll, accounting and finance records and reports along with any other records, reports and/or information deemed to be sensitive in nature
8. May assist with auditing and balancing monthly insurance bills.
9. May serve as backup to the county switchboard as required.
10. Performs related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications
Three (3) years of general office experience that includes computer record processing and customer service experience; OR, any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities. Human Resources experience and records processing experience desired. Must pass job related tests.

SUPERVISION
Employees in this classification receive supervision from an administrative superior as assigned. Assignments are made indicating what is to be done, the quality of work expected, and any deadlines which are required to be met. Work is reviewed to ensure timely completion and accuracy.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The work is performed in the usual office environment and may include field trips to outlying areas.
