- The CalPERS Customer Service and Outreach Division is recruiting to fill a Retirement Program Specialist I position within our Contact Center. This position is responsible for providing professional assistance and information to customers regarding CalPERS retirement and health programs.The position will be located in a call center environment and will perform the following duties:
- As a Subject Matter Expert, assist other staff on issues that require in depth analysis or expertise from specific program areas.
- Interpret CalPERS statues, laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Respond to time-sensitive inquiries or complaints concerning retirement and health benefit issues, such as purchase of service credits, death benefits criteria, retirement allowance options, and community property.
- As appropriate, coordinate responses with representatives from across the enterprise.

If your eligibility is based on an employment list, please include a copy of your exam results with your application. Appointment may be subject to SROA/Surplus restrictions. Surplus applicants must attach a copy of their surplus letter with their application.PLEASE NOTE: Possession of minimum qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
