Job Information
Accountant I positions perform complex or highly sensitive audit, accounting, or financial information systems work; respond to staff and outside agency inquiries relating to budget and financial matters; direct the input and updating of data contained within City’s accounting system; and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- You must meet the following requirements on the date you apply, unless otherwise indicated.AGE: 18 years of age or older; except for high school graduates (or persons with GED equivalency) who are 17.NOTE:· Applicants who are age 17 and are high school graduates, or have passed the California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE) or General Education Development (GED) examination must submit a copy of their high school diploma, CHSPE or GED results with their application.CITIZENSHIP: You must be a United States citizen or have the current legal right to work in the United States.LICENSE: A valid California Class C Driver License is required at the time of hire.NOTES:· Some positions may require a California Class B Driver License at the time of interview or at the time of hire.· Some positions may require California Class A or B Driver License within six months from date of hire.HIGHLY DESIRABLE:· Landscape/landscape maintenance experience including brush cutting/thinning, weeding, planting, digging, and use of chainsaws and other hand-held powered equipment:· Possession of a valid Qualified Applicators Certificate.
Screening Process
The screening process will consist of a comprehensive evaluation of the application for applicable education, experience, and/or training to ensure all minimum requirements have been met. Successful candidates will be placed on a list which will be used to fill position vacancies during the next one year. For each vacancy, only those candidates with the most appropriate qualifications will be contacted by the hiring department for an interview.Supplemental Information
