Description
To perform a variety of complex office duties; OR, to assist the general public by directing them to the appropriate person or office unit.
Job Duties
1. Assists the general public in person or on the phone by answering questions, taking complaints, explaining services, policies, procedures and schedules; locates information from county records and provides it to the public as requested.
2. When acting as a receptionist the emphasis is on directing the general public to the appropriate source of information or service.
3. Receives, processes and issues various forms, applications, no¬tices, orders; reviews items for such things as accuracy, completeness, required stamps and signatures; forwards documents to other offices as necessary.
4. Enters data on county records manually or on a computer terminal; sets up and maintains files and filing systems; retrieves information from files or terminal; proofs and corrects work entered; purges files of obsolete or incorrect information.
5. May prepare and type such things as notices, reports, form letters, forms, cards, documents and correspondence.
6. May collect and balance fees; makes change; may prepare bank deposits and remittances.
7. May perform all the duties of subordinate level employees.
8. May act as a lead worker over subordinate level employees.
9. May be required to make county deliveries to other county job sites.
10. Performs related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
One (1) year of office experience; OR, any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required know¬ledge and abilities. Accurate typing may be required for some positions. Valid Washington State driver's license may be required for some positions. Must pass job related tests.

• maintain records and prepare required reports.
