Heavy Motor Equipment Operator

Under general supervision, to operate a wide variety of heavy motor equipment not requiring a special license or unusual skill; and to perform related work as required.

Operating motor trucks with a rated capacity of over three tons, street sweepers, air compressors of more than sixty cubic feet per minute capacity, sidewalk rollers, street flushing trucks, derrick trucks (three tons capacity or less), crawler tractors (three tons weight or less), and shovel-dozers (three tons or under in weight); making minor adjustments to equipment and changing tires; when so assigned, supervising a small group of laborers and others in a variety of simple work tasks; cleaning and servicing trucks and garage area; performing unskilled and semi-skilled labor duties when not operating equipment; hauling tool shed and trailers to and from supply yard.

Massachusetts Driver's License required, Commercial Driver's License may by required.
