Recreation Instructor II (Summer)

This is specialized recreational work of an instructional nature.

An employee in this class is responsible for providing instruction in a specific recreation activity on a part--time basis.  Work also involves preparing samples and written directions, selecting materials, and adopting suitable teaching methods to meet individual needs.  Work is performed under the direction of a recreation supervisor, who formulates the general policies, schedules meeting dates, and otherwise assists in seeing that the activity is provided with adequate space and necessary materials and supplies in order that it may attain the desired objectives.  The employee is expected to use acquired specialized knowledge in instructing participants in such activities as dancing, music, crafts, tennis, swimming, dramatics, gymnastics and boxing.

Considerable experience and training in the specialized recreational activity in which engaged.
