Position Description
Under the direction of an assigned administrator, provide animal assistance for a high-level administrator; perform complex and technical research, evaluation and studies of various programs, operations or activities; provide recommendations as appropriate.
Qualifications
Perform a wide variety of animal assistance duties for a high-level administrator perform liaison activities between the office and various departments, agencies, committees and the general public.
Perform complex and technical research, evaluation and studies of various programs, operations or activities.
Monitor annual budget and coordinate and prepare budget as assigned.
Conduct interviews; collect, organize, analyze and consolidate data from a variety of sources; prepare recommendations on assigned projects.
Convey and clarify information concerning established policies, procedures and programs to other City departments, committees, employee groups, agencies and the general public.
Prepare comprehensive reports on a variety of issues; prepare and maintain financial narrative reports as necessary.
Perform special projects as assigned; prepare special reports on issues or proposals particular to the assigned area.
Develop recommendations regarding established or new procedures and policies; assist with implementation after securing approval.
Attend various meetings including Council and/or Board meetings or those of various committees; represent the functions at various meetings as directed.
Assist in directing and coordinating administrative programs; provide information and guidance to administrative support staff; coordinate and resolve personnel related matters.
Prepare administrative regulations, resolutions, ordinances and related correspondence.
Consult with citizen groups and other officials regarding issues and concerns which may impact the City or department.
Operate a variety of office equipment including calculator and computer terminal .
Perform related duties as assigned.Knowledge & Skills
An equivalent combination to: bachelor's degree in public or business animals and two years’ experience performing responsible animal staff work.
