Description

Our ideal candidate will have experience in researching and providing advice and rule interpretation to management and agency staff regarding the Collective Bargaining Agreement and other state and federal rules, laws, policies, and procedures.

The Human Resource Consultation Team is hiring a non-permanent Human Resource Consultant (HRC4) to come along side and assist our Consulting team by providing the full scope of human resource services. They will independently determine what advice and rule interpretation to provide to management and staff on complex personnel issues. This non-permanent position is anticipated to last up to one (1) year and is full-time telework. Duties

In this role, you will provide a full range of expert level consultation to supervisors and managers in all HR related areas and exercising independent judgement. Your investigative and communication skills will be utilized as you recommend agency position on grievances, complaints, and appeals, representing the agency in hearings and meetings when necessary.

Some of what you will do:

  • Process Reasonable Accommodation (RA) requests, facilitate RA meetings with management and the employee, analyze letters and correspondence related to an RA.
  • Assist in the management of employee performance by analyzing problems and providing strategic plans and tactical responses to address issues.
  • Draft pre-disciplinary and disciplinary letters and provide associated documentation.
  • Conduct and coordinate investigations.
  • Coordinate with agency management, union staff and Labor Relations Office in mediation conferences, hearings, appeals and settlement discussions.
  • Write and send personnel-related correspondence.

Qualifications

Required:

A Bachelor’s degree with focus on business, human resources, social or organizational behavioral sciences, or related field AND three (3) years of broad-based professional human resource experience, including facilitating organizational development or change, and advising and consulting on human resource issues.


OR One (1) year as a Human Resource Consultant 3

OR Two (2) years as a Human Resource Consultant 2

OR  Related education/experience equivalent to seven (7) years.

Education to Experience Equivalences:
Associate Degree = 2 years | Bachelor Degree = 4 years | Masters or Higher = 5 years
