Seasonal Maintenance Employee (Forestry)

Responsible for forestry duties including planting, maintenance, and removal of trees.

• Operates trucks and equipment.
• Assists in spring tree planting, staking, mulching, and watering.
• Assists in tree removal, pruning, chipping brush, hauling wood, stump removal, and site restoration.
• Performs tree maintenance, including herbicide application, nursery work, gypsy moth control, and emerald ash borer control.
• Follows all policies, procedures, and the philosophy that is set forth by the City of Green Bay Parks, Recreation, & Forestry Department.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in tree and forestry maintenance desirable.
• Valid Wisconsin driver's license and good driving record.
• A combination of equivalent experience and/or education may be considered.

• Knowledge of tree and forestry maintenance.
• Skill and ability in safely operating vehicles and equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to work the required hours of the position.
  
• Physical Requirements:
  Ability to perform the following activities:
  • Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, squatting, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Occasional sitting, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to work in varied environmental conditions.
