General Purpose

Assists in the Culinary Arts program in the delivery of quality food service for internal and external customers. Responsible for operating a short-order food line, banquet preparation, setup, cleanup, maintaining a clean, well-functioning and safe kitchen and food service environment. Exemplifies and provides professional customer service.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience
High School diploma
One year training in food service
Two years experience in related work
A combination of work experience and training may be used to fill this requirement
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must have good communication skills
Ability to organize and follow through
Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
Must have the ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment
Requires a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends
 
Licenses and Certificates
Must have a current Davis County Food Service Worker’s Permit

Job Focus

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
1. Works cooperatively with the culinary Arts Instructor and the Catering/Event Manager to insure a quality Food Service Program
2. Exemplifies and provides professional customer service in all aspects of food service
3. Assists in preparation, cooking, and coordinating designated menus with the Catering/Event Manager and Culinary Arts Instructor
4. Works independently to operate a short-order line during breakfast and lunch hours. Includes submitting food orders, preparing, cooking, and delivering food to customers
5. Prepares for, sets up and delivers catering events. Orders food and linen for events.
6. Coordinates place setting preparation and banquet setup
7. A ssists in food preparation
8. Maintains serving areas in clean and well-stocked manner
9. Monitors condition of equipment, cleanliness and order of storage areas, refrigerators, freezers, and other equipment
10. Maintains kitchen and seating area in clean, sanitary and orderly condition
11. Works with dishwashers to ensure consistent quality clean up of kitchen
12. Works cooperatively within the college Community
13. Performs other related duties as assigned.
