Description

Responsible for the operations of the front desk, child care, concessions and/or weight room areas in the community activity center. Enforces community activity center rules and regulations. Assists with part-time staff training and development.

Examples of Duties

1. Work the front desk area by checking ID's, selling memberships, collecting admission fees, selling merchandise, checking out equipment and conducting program registrations. Supervise children in the child care and weight room areas.

2. Recommends and enforces all rules and regulations in the community activity center.

3. Assists with marketing efforts associated with recreational programs and actively recruit participants. Provide information for updating the Town's website, departmental brochure, Parks and Recreation page in the Town's newsletter and create flyers.

4. Performs miscellaneous administrative tasks necessary for successful recreational program operations.

5. Assist with part-time staff training and development.

6. Assists with monitoring and maintaining inventory, distribution, control and requisitioning of recreational programming supplies.

7. Assists with coordinating the schedules of part-time staff working the front desk, concessions, child care and/or weight room areas.

8. Support other areas within the community activity center by assisting with special events, aquatic programs, facility rentals and facility storage coverage issues in the absence of staff.

9. Prepare and submit reports to include recreational program attendance, revenue and expenses.

10. Attend mandatory training and in-service meetings.

11. Informs supervisor of all work-related activities.

12. Adheres to the personnel, safety, and divisional policies and procedures of the Town.

13. Assists co-workers and other divisions as needed.

14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required. One year of college in Parks and Recreation, Physical Education or related field is preferred. CPR/First Aid Certification is required. Must have a valid Texas driver's license and driving record must be in compliance with Town policy.

Supplemental Information

Must have excellent leadership, organizational and communicative skills, both oral and written. To perform the essential functions of the job, must be able to perform strenuous physical activities to include running, kneeling, bending, twisting, dragging, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs of various recreational and athletic equipment; to talk, see, hear, and read; to work in adverse environmental conditions; and to maintain an effective and pleasant working relationship with citizens, the general public, employees, and volunteers. Must be able to work various hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
