Job Summary

Summary of Position:  
Instructors are responsible for providing quality academic curriculum, instruction, assessment, and to ensure a productive and challenging classroom experience to prepare students for the workplace and/or a pathway to further education.
 

Essential Functions

Essential Functions:
1.  Maintain and uphold the College values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect.
2.  Teach courses in modern classroom (F2F), interactive TV, online or hybrid blend or both
3.  Actively participate in college/division/program team/advisory meetings
4.  Responsible for curriculum development and instructional learning activities
5.  Monitor student progress and conduct student evaluation
6.  Provide academic advising and make referrals as appropriate
7.  Provide input and/or maintain division accreditation and student records
8.  Organize, develop, and teach outcomes-based curriculum and assess student learning
9.  Work with students on one-to-one basis outside the classroom as well as in classroom setting
10. Assist students in developing critical thinking skills to understand/apply concepts of subject matter to vocational, ethical, social, and personal practices.
11. Use college approved learning management system
12. Adhere to college, division/department, and program policies
13. Teach to the college core abilities as well as the program and course outcomes
14. Participates in program level performance excellence initiatives (i.e. Quality Review Process)
15. Program Head/Department duties may be assigned based on a rotational two year term as per the contract.  Duties are defined by the Faculty Contract and any required program accreditation needs.
16. Complete all required College training.
17. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in (XXX), Master's Degree preferred; Minimum of two years (4,000 hours) verifiable occupational experience.  Ability to communicate effectively as a team member, on a one-to-one basis and in small groups. Ability to adapt teaching approaches to the needs of the adult learner. Ability and desire to work within a teaching team that utilizes distance learning and web-based technology to provide instruction.  teaching experience preferred.
