Essential Job Duties

  1. All City of Fayetteville positions require the employee to provide good customer service to both internal and external customers, maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of his or her own team), and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive. Other essential duties of this position include the following:
  2. Enforce laws, codes and city ordinance requirements for safety, health and unsightly property conditions.
  3. Organize and maintain accurate records of property inspection activities.
  4. Inspect properties for violations of various City codes including:  property conditions; storage of vehicles; unsafe building; and zoning compliance.
  5. Seek remedies to property violations including but not limited to, correction letters and violation notices.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Secondary Job Duties

  1. Prepare all reports as necessary.
  2. Train new officers on equipment, computer and procedures as needed.
  3. Perform secondary duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. High School Diploma or GED is required. Prefer twelve months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Valid Arkansas Drivers License.
  3. Effectively communicate with others orally and in writing.
  4. Must be proficient in the use of a personal computer and other related software programs. Must be able to effectively operate standard office equipment.
  5. While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee regularly is required to stand, walk, and sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities required to perform essential functions.
  6. While performing the functions of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.

Full Time, 38 or more hours per week, non uniformed employee.  Eligible for all City benefits offered to full time non uniformed employees and all full time City accruals.  Also eligible for all City employee perks and discounts.
