Essential Job Duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Note: All City of Fayetteville positions require the employee to provide good customer service to both internal and external customers, maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members, of his or her own team), and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive. Other essential duties of this position include the following:
 
  1. Perform maintenance of lights on and off field.
  2. Perform electrical, plumbing, janitorial, metal fabrication, HVAC, landscaping and building duties as assigned.
  3. Operate heavy equipment and serve as technician for both automotive and heavy equipment.
  4. Perform daily runway check on lights.
  5. Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Secondary Job Duties

  1. Secondary duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

1.      High school diploma or GED and 12 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2.      Valid Arkansas Commercial Driver’s License – Class B
3.      Ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date chemical license.
4.      Effectively communicate with others orally and in writing.
  1. Must be proficient in operation of various equipment, such as tractors, mowing equipment, back hoe, skid loader, man lift, sweeper truck, fork lift, dump truck, snow plow, four-wheeler, etc.
  2. Ability to calculate figures, proportions, percentages, and area.
  3. While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear as necessary for safety reasons or to operate certain equipment, stand, walk, and sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee frequently is required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  
  4. While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The employee frequently experiences high precarious positions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud due to regular exposure to jet engine noise.

Full Time, 38 or more hours per week, non uniformed employee.  Eligible for all City benefits offered to full time non uniformed employees and all full time City accruals.  Also eligible for all City employee perks and discounts.
