SUMMARY

Instructs individual swim lessons.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provides quality customer service. Instructs various levels of swim lessons. Keeps accurate records of lessons being taught. Ensures all possible safety measures are observed. Responds to emergency situations as required and maintains accurate accident and incident reports. Complies with City and departmental rules and regulations, policies, and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:
Must be at least 16 years of age.

Licensing/Certification Requirements:
Water Safety Instructor certification is required to teach all levels. IPAP training is required to teach lessons for level 3 and under. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

TESTING PROCEDURES

The City of Thornton conducts pre-employment drug testing and a background investigation as a condition of employment.
