Information Processing Technician
 
In addition to performance-based merit increases, this position is scheduled to receive salary range increases on the following dates:

Effective July 1, 2022 – 3.5% increase

 
Salary may be negotiable within the range listed above, based on the position requirements and successful candidate's qualifications, subject to appropriate authorization.

This recruitment is open to the public.

The eligible list established through this recruitment will be used to fill current and future Staff Specialist vacancies throughout the County of Orange.  This list may also be used to fill similar and lower level classifications.

THE OPPORTUNITY 
Information Processing Technicians produce a variety of difficult and complex materials requiring the application of advanced keyboarding and correction skills and subject matter knowledge in the production of finished products.

The current vacancies are with the Social Services Agency (SSA).
 
The 
County of Orange Social Services Agency (SSA) operates under the policy direction of the Orange County Board of Supervisors and the California Departments of Social Services (CDSS) and Health Care Services (DHCS). The Agency plans, implements, and operates Federal, State and County social services programs that protect children and adults from abuse or neglect; enables the frail and disabled to remain in their homes rather than being institutionalized; moves eligible families from dependency to self-sufficiency; and provides benefits for eligible recipients. Funding for programs comes from State, Federal, and County sources. SSA is comprised of the following four (4) divisions:  Assistance Programs (AP); Children & Family Services (CFS); Family Self-Sufficiency & Adult Services (FSS-AS); and Administrative Services.  Some SSA positions will be assigned to work in the southern part of the County.
 
 DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
 The ideal candidate must demonstrate sufficient experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
