Summary

Provide general administrative support to the Community Development department. Schedule, coordinate and record meetings for public forums and citizen groups.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1.Answers incoming calls, registers, sorts and distributes incoming mail and directs same within the office 2.Greets visitors and clients in a professional manner 3.Responds to questions and correspondence regarding fair housing and logs same 4.Creates and issues reports following established procedures 5.Organizes and maintains files, records, and databases as needed 6.Tracks income and expenditures from advisory organizations 7.Assembles and compiles data for reports or presentations from a variety of sources as needed 8.Assists with purchases, receives and monitors supply inventory and budgets 9.May assist with the formulation, monitoring and reporting of the annual operating budget 10.Makes copies and prepares mailings as required 11.May go to other departments/offices to deliver and/or receive documents 12.Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent. Three to four (3-4) years related experience. Good written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of office equipment and bookkeeping or accounting. Knowledge of computer software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Lotus 1-2-3 and WordPerfect, QuickBooks and others as needed. Good organizational skills.

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, walk, stand, and stoop.
